Hi Guys,
I know... What a shame. Atleast India managed to cross 73 which is the lowest score in T20 by Kenay. Don't be that happy.. its just 74. India were bowled out for 74 in 17.3 overs and Australia won the game in just 11.2 overs. Dhoni's statement that with young players in team atleast there will be a difference of 25-30 runs beacause of fielding seemed relavent when he said that, but now the question is if there aren't enough runs on board to defent will that make a difference? And that was clear from the last night's T20 game in which the over-confident Indian team was trashed with a 9-wicket victory by australia.

The young team surely seems full of energy and also seems to be very very over-confident. The way the players came to bat and went back was like flash. "Oh I think he was walking in a minute ago. What happened? Is he having a stomach Ache? Oh sorry, he's OUT." Remove score of Pathan and the scorecard of the India team looked as a phone number "9 0 8 1 8 9 6 1 0 3". Impressive.
I know its just one game. You can say what when the same team won the World Cup. Ya true. But it wasn't the same team. Its "World cup winning team+Over confidence". If the over-confidence continues, no doubt the results from the one-days would all be the same.
From last night's game, the lack for senior players in the team was surely felt. The need of the "Big 3", Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid, was felt badly. In the way the indian batting lineup collapsed, surely couple of senior players in the team might have controlled the situation. "The Wall" may have a low stike-rate, but he might have done some repair work. "Dada" might have given away 5-10 runs away in fielding, but surely he would have scored atleast 10 more than anyone else. And Sachin's expirence would have come handy. All the 3 are in great form.
Dhoni is surley over-confident. The way he declared that fielding will be great with young players and they will make a difference of 25-30 runs on the board was a very very worng statement. How does it make a difference if there aren't many runs on the board to defend. And giving the statement that the T20 is a practice match shows how over confident this Young Indian team is.
Now the question is "Is the decision of transformation of the team at this time a right decision?" Can we risk it at this time when BCCI and CA are at a war? Can we risk to lose the games against Australia in view of buliding a team for future world cup 2011? Seems like indian team right now needs some expirenced players. Afterall, "Old is Gold".
